The food, drink and retail sales are the largest annual fundraising event theFund has. The money that is raised helps support Luminaria and theFund's support of our 27 arts and cultural organizations.

Some important things have changed that you need to know.

Luminaria hours have changed from 6pm - 12 am to7pm - 1 am. There are now 4 Children's Areas that will be operating in the daylight hours; 5pm -7pm.

Although Luminaria does not begin until 7 pm, we are opening the Ticket booths at 4:30 pm and the concession booths at 5pm, and they will stay open until 1 am.

We are working very hard with the City to accomodate all of our volunteers, on all shifts with parking and I will update you with that information once it is set.

Everyone who works this year will get a new Luminaria t-shirt. I have included a sneak peek of the new design for your eyes only. Please let me know what size you wear.

This year rather than having those dreary Information booths and passing out information, we have newly designed Information kiosks that will be well lit. Each will be staffed with 2-3 volunteers to greet and help direct people.

Now here is my request:

We need 19 volunteers for our Information kiosks for the 6:30 pm – 8:30pm shift.

We need 19 volunteers for our Information kiosks for the 8:30pm – 11pm shift.

We need 10 volunteers for our Information kiosks for the 11pm – 1am shift.

ALL Information kiosk volunteers MUST attend the Orientation meeting onsite at HemisFair Park on Saturday, March 3^rd at 4pm, where we will be walking the footprint and familiarizing you with locations that you will need to know.

I hope that you are all willing and able to help; it is a lot of fun and the event is really cool.

I look forward to hearing from you – the two things I need to know are: what shift(s) you are able to work and what size t-shirt you wear. If you cannot make the Orientation meeting, but can still volunteer, let me know what shift and I will schedule you somewhere other than information.

If you are a night owl, please sign up for the late shift. If you are an 'energizer bunny' and want to sign up for the whole night – we’re glad to have you. Also, if you have friends that you think would be interested in helping direct them to the website to sign up.
