Position: Grants Assistant
The Magik Theatre is looking for a Grants Assistant to work with the Development Director in: FULFILLING REQUIREMENTS OF ONGOING FUNDING SOURCES, MAINTAINING THE GRANTS DATABASE, MONITORING AND COMPLETING CURRENT AND FUTURE GRANT DEADLINES AND OBLIGATIONS, AND WORK WITH STAFF TO IDENTIFY NEW SOURCES OF FUNDING AND STRATEGIES. Specific responsibilities include:
- Direct supervisor: Development Director
- Prepares grant proposals/applications/reports to funding sources
- Summarizes evaluation statistics of all programs
- Research data and statistics specific to funding proposals (national, regional and local)
- Maintains grant files and tracks all funding history
- Performs other duties as needed by company
2011-2012 Grants Budget:
Government Grants: $203,795
Foundations/Corporations: $183,000
Work Schedule/Requirements:
- 15-20 hrs per week
- Contract/hourly
- Most work will need to be done in theatre office as files are sensitive and confidential, but some work can be done off-premises
- Computer, desk and access to files and database will be provided
- Available for Immediate Hire
- Hourly Rate subject to qualifications. Range is between $18 - $25 per hour

Gemini Ink is a nationally respected literary nonprofit offering dynamic programs that serve some 5,000 culturally diverse participants annually via more than 100 literary events, writing workshops, and classes for readers. Our annual budget is in the $450,000 range, and our staff of six (including the Executive Director) is supported by a strong cadre of interns and volunteers. Salary for this position begins at $50,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
Candidates must have at least a B.A., and demonstrate proven leadership, non-profit organizational management, literary arts, and interpersonal skills, including persuasive public speaking, along with a significant history of community service.
